Laguna Art Museum’s mission is to promote understanding of the role of art and artists in American culture through collection, conservation, exhibition, research, scholarship and education. Laguna Beach Community Clinic’s mission is to provide excellent medical care regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. The clinic offers non-emergency curative and preventive care, as well as educational services, for individuals and families in Orange County and serves as a training site for health care professionals. $10,000 grant awarded for operations. www.lbclinic.org
Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Foundation’s mission is to increase the number of scholarships available to graduating LBHS seniors. $4,500 grant awarded for increasing the capacity of its existing website. www.lbhssf.org
Laguna Beach Live! is dedicated to promoting and increasing the knowledge and appreciation of the performing arts in Laguna Beach and to nurturing young musicians. The goal is to increase the number of professional live performances in the city throughout the year and to offer educational programs to promote the appreciation of music. Laguna Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5868’s national mission is to "honor the dead by helping the living" through service to veterans, community service, and a commitment to national security and a strong national defense. Activities in Laguna Beach include: providing flags; Patriots Day Parade participation; Participation in Memorial Day ceremonies; visits to sick patients at Long Beach VA Hospital (LBVH); support of LB Little League team; awards for patriotism essays at LBHS; financial support for local scout of the year honors; and assistance for disabled veterans attending Pageant of the Masters. $1,000 grant awarded for operations. Laguna Relief and Resource Coalition’s mission is to try to prevent homelessness and to provide support services to the homeless and low-income people in Laguna Beach in a way that encourages self-sufficiency and inspires independence.
