Local philanthropist Donnie Crevier has established a Donor Advised Fund at the Laguna Beach Community Foundation. Additionally, Crevier made a $25,000 unrestricted donation to the Community Foundation, which the Community Foundation Board has decided to include in its 2011 grants program.
"I believe in our Laguna Beach community and its nonprofits. I would encourage Laguna Beach residents to learn more about the benefits of supporting charities through the Laguna Beach Community Foundation," said Crevier. "Giving back to the community here in Laguna and to other communities brings me joy. During these difficult times, there are many needs that could use our support."

"A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is one of numerous giving options available through the Community Foundation and is extremely flexible," explained Darrcy Loveland, CEO.
A donor may name in the DAF application the specific nonprofits to receive donations or later make recommendations. Or, donors may specify they prefer Laguna Beach Community Foundation to decide upon grantees. Donors receive an immediate charitable contribution deduction when the contribution is made to the DAF because the Laguna Beach Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
